Holiday Showcase, Holter Museum, Helena MT, November- December

Christmas is coming the goose is getting fat, please wipe your feet on the welcome mat....of the Holter Museum when you stop by to do a bit of holiday shopping. Hang up your coat and enjoy some refreshments November 7th at the opening.

Emily Nell shares a light moment while talking about her artwork at Livingston’s Frame Garden last week. Her work is based on a German folk craft called “scherenschnitte,” or paper cutting. Below: A closeup photo shows details of her craft. "Crooning for Crocus and Everything Spring" caught the eye of the hospital panel as they voted to add it to their permanent collection in their new wing.

Emily shares, "I am honored to be represented by the hospital and hope the meadowlarks bring many a smile and warm feeling to the patients and visitors. Perhaps they will sing a tune." 



Havre Art Association Festival, Havre MT, November 1-2, 2014

 

As the Jackrabbits fur turned white a drive to Havre MT was just right. Emily participated in their Art Show for the first time. She shares, "I have worked in the Havre Public Schools numerous times as Artist-in-Residence. This provided an opportunity to connect with the public in a new way."

"SHINE" symbolizes a life well lived and was collected by an art teacher who's mantra is such. Stacy has a beautiful spirit- her selflessness and love of art is making a difference in the lives of students. Thank you Stacy for sharing your gifts.


SCBWI Regional Conference, Holiday Inn Bozeman, September 20-21 2014

Emily's entry piece: Illustrators will have the opportunity to display their original framed works.

"It's critique time and I am ever so excited to have an agent and editor provide their expertise. The Shadow and The Paper Prince will be read through with a fine tooth comb. I look forward to reading their constructive criticism and making the final adjustments before proposing to publishing companies. My brain thirsts for more knowledge."

kt literary agent Kate Schafer Testerman will hold a workshop called, "About My Query." Chronicle Books editor Taylor Norma will be presenting a workshop and author Michelle Parker-Rock, will be talking about writing non-fiction for young readers.

Featured Artist, Frame Garden, Livingston MT, August -September 2014

Emily provided 2 back to back demonstrations where she shared her unique story as an artist.

Big Fork Arts Festival, Big Fork MT, August 2 & 3 2014
Wonderful conversation and connections were the inspiration of the weekend. There was much interest as people commented, "How unique" and "Such whimsical works". These two gals made a special connection with the work. Janine shared, " Your pieces are so unique and filled with the excitement and beauty of nature.  A wonderful reminder of our time in Montana." Their support will drive Emily's creativity as she prepares for her upcoming exhibit.
